Messaging in Nextere

The SMS module in Nextere allows users to send and receive text messages directly from the platform, enabling quick communication with clients, agents, and team members. This guide covers the interface, message composition, and conversation management.

Accessing the SMS Module


  • Click the SMS icon (speech bubble) from the left navigation panel.
  • The SMS dashboard will open, displaying:
    • Message List Panel (left): Shows all recent conversations with contact names or numbers.
    • Conversation Panel (right): Displays the selected conversation thread.
    • New Message Button (top-right): Used to start a new SMS conversation.


Message List Panel


  • Displays contacts and numbers with:
    • Contact initials or number in a circle.
    • Last message preview.
    • Timestamp (e.g., “a day ago,” “2 months ago”).
  • Scroll to view older conversations.

Conversation Panel


  • Shows the full message thread with:
    • Date separators (e.g., “09 September,” “24 November”).
    • Incoming messages in gray bubbles.
    • Outgoing messages in teal bubbles with timestamps.

Sending a New Message


  1. Click New Message (top-right corner).
  2. Send Message pop-up appears with fields:
    • From: Select the virtual number you want to send from.
    • To: Enter the recipient’s phone number.
    • Message Box: Type your message.
  3. Click Send to deliver the message.
  4. Click Cancel to discard.

NotesTip: Ensure the correct virtual number is selected in the From field for compliance and tracking.

Replying to Existing Conversations


  • Select a conversation from the Message List Panel.
  • Type your reply in the input box at the bottom of the conversation panel.
  • Press Enter or click the Send icon (paper plane) to send.
